Athanasius and the Church of Our Time

Bishop Rudolph Graber + of happy memory, retired

Bishop of Regensburg, wrote in his book Athanasius

and the Church of Our Time:

Bishop Rudolf Graber of Regensburg, Germany (* 13. September 1903 in Bayreuth; † 31. Januar 1992 in Regensburg)

"What happened over 1600 years ago is repeating

itself today, but with two or three differences:

Alexandria is today the whole Universal Church, the

stability of which is being shaken, and what was

undertaken at that time by means of physical force

and cruelty is now being transferred to a different

level. Exile is replaced by banishment into the

silence of being ignored, killing [is replaced] by

assassination of character."

Well said and also to all the unsung clergy who suffer daily from the victimisation and intransigence of the bishops. Where having created orthodox parish worship, they are transferred to disband same. Also where clergy have afforded themselves of the charity of BXVI, they are leant upon to back-down.
