The Pope recognizes the martyrdom of a young seminarian killed by Communist partisans

The Pope recognizes the martyrdom of a young seminarian killed by Communist partisans

A few days ago, Pope Francesco authorized the Congregation for the Causes of Saints to approve the decrees of 63 new Blessed, including many martyrs murdered by the Communists in Spain, but also in Hungary, Romania and Italy. Among the martyrs who will be beatified soon there is also a seminarian Rolando Rivi, killed out of hatred for the faith on April 13, 1945 at the age of 14 by a group of communist partisans.

It is a good news for all the devotees of these heroes of the faith who chose death rather than betray their divine Redeemer. It is also an indirect condemnation of the inhuman and bloody communist ideology, which still continues to claim victims. Some say that the red danger no longer exists. To them we should remember that currently about one and a half billion people still live under the heel of the followers of Marx, just think of the fierce regime of North Korea.

It should be noted that for the time being have been raised protests against Pope Francis. With other Pontiffs, when the Spanish martyrs were beatified, there were protests by the Reds, who have accused the Church of raising to the altars of the "Franco". It is absurd controversy, because in reality we know that many of the martyrs were promised release if they cursed, spat on the crucifix or denied the faith. Therefore, were not killed out of love of Generalissimo Franco, but out of hatred toward their faith in Christ, as certified by the Holy See.

Monday in the Octave of Easter

The Octave of Easter Monday in the Octave of Easter

Easter, the most important feast of the Church year, has an "octave", that is, it is celebrated for eight days -- through the following Sunday or ""Low Sunday", the Octave of Easter Day.
Sequence
This is beautiful sequence written in 1048. Sublime, poetic, and beautiful, this hymn is considered extremely precious by the Church.   She only makes use of it once a year, during the greatest feast of the liturgical year!
How beautiful it is, to see that the same things were believed at the beginning of the second millenium! This hymn is almost a thousand years old, yet our Faith is the same today as it was then.
How marvellous is the Catholic Faith, which doesn't change with the times, but always remains the same - "Jesus Christ yesterday, today, and tomorrow". The essentials of our Faith must never change, as there is no change with God or Jesus Christ. God is the Unchanging One.

May you praise the Paschal Victim,  immolated for Christians.
The Lamb redeemed the sheep:   Christ, the innocent one,  has reconciled sinners to the Father.

A wonderful duel to behold,   as death and life struggle:
The Prince of life dead,  now reigns alive. Tell us, Mary Magdalen,   what did you see in the way? I saw the sepulchre of the living Christ, and I saw the glory of the Resurrected one: The Angelic witnesses,   the winding cloth, and His garments. The risen Christ is my hope: He will go before His own into Galilee. We know Christ to have risen   truly from the dead: And thou, victorious King, have mercy on us. Amen. Alleluia.

EASTER SUNDAY

VERY BEAUTIFUL IMAGES OF EASTER SUNDAY

Christus resurrexit! Resurrexit vere!

PIPE ORGAN THE STRIFE IS O'ER EASTER SUNDAY

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
The strife is o'er, the battle done,
the victory of life is won;
the song of triumph has begun.
Alleluia!

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
The powers of death have done their worst,
but Christ their legions hath dispersed:
let shout of holy joy outburst.
Alleluia!

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
The three sad days are quickly sped,
he rises glorious from the dead:
all glory to our risen Head!
Alleluia!

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
He closed the yawning gates of hell,
the bars from heaven's high portals fell;
let hymns of praise his triumphs tell!
Alleluia!

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Lord! by the stripes which wounded thee,
from death's dread sting thy servants free,
that we may live and sing to thee.
Alleluia!

PRAY THE ROSARY FOR THE HOLY FATHER

CAUSE FOR HOPE CAUSE FOR FEAR

'Pope Francis is very much imbued with the spirit of Vatican II. And unlike Pope Benedict, he appears less concerned with continuity with the past and more intent on moving ahead with what he still regards as the Council’s ongoing agenda. So there is cause for concern (see: “Could the Criticism Have Merit?”).

But we must remember that the grace of office has significantly changed the mindset and policies of popes in the past, with Pope Pius IX being a good illustration: liberal at the beginning, he quickly became a staunch defender of tradition. The best and most useful thing we can do at the moment is to pray for the Pope, as Our Lady told us to do. And petition him to do the consecration that is his — and our — only hope.'

Commit to pray an extra 5 decades of the most Holy Rosary for the Holy Father every day.

Oratory Easter Vigil 2008: The Exsultet

BIRMINGHAM ORATORY EASTER VIGIL EXULTET

PRAY, PRAY MUCH FOR THE HOLY FATHER.

"...one should not leap to the absurd conclusion that all things are licit to the pope; or that he may turn things topsy-turvy in the Church at mere whim. Possession of power is one thing; a rightful use of power quite another. The supreme pontiff has received his power for the sake of building up the Church, not tearing it down. In exercising his supreme power he is by divine law strictly bound by the laws of justice, equity, and prudence. These laws require that unless necessity or great utility urge the contrary, the pope should, for example respect the legitimate customs obtaining in various places, observe prescribed ecclesiastical laws, etc. These laws, even though they do not possess a binding power for the pope, do nonetheless normally have for him a directive power."

THE TRADITION OF HOLY GRAVES

There is the laudable tradition in many places in Europe above all in German-speaking lands and in Eastern Europe of representations of Christ's holy grave erected lovingly in parish churches where the faithful "keep watch" and pray on Good Friday and Holy Saturday.

My Jesus, hide my soul in Your heart as You lie in the Sepulcher alone. Let my heart be as a fire to keep you warm. Let my desire to know and love You be like a torch to light up the darkness. Let my soul sing softly a hymn of repentant love as the hours pass and Your Resurrection is at hand. Let me rejoice, dear Jesus, with all the Angels in a hymn of praise and thanksgiving for so great a love- so great a God- so great a day!

Amen
